The Partnership for Civil Justice Fund filed the lawsuit of Sergeant v. Acol et al. jointly with the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights & Urban Affairs in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland on behalf of Allan Sergeant, a Black man, who was publicly strip searched by Laurel police during a baseless vehicular stop which occurred solely on the basis of racial profiling.
