The PCJF’s Rachel Lederman, along with other lawyers representing the Golden Gate Bridge Protestors, have sent a letter to District Attorney Brooke Jenkins demanding her recusal from the case over conflicts of interest and well-documented patterns of Anti-Arab racism within her office.
26 Bay Area residents, known as the Golden Gate 26, were arrested during an April 15 ceasefire protest on the Golden Gate Bridge to demand an end to the US-backed genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and an immediate arms embargo against the Israeli government. Eight of the protestors are charged with felony conspiracy, 18 with misdemeanor conspiracy, and all 26 are facing 38 counts of false imprisonment, as well as trespassing to interfere with a business, obstructing a thoroughfare, and related charges.
