PCJF Demands Police Stop Facilitating Mob Violence at Venezuelan Embassy

Since the beginning of May, right-wing mobs have been assailing the Venezuelan Embassy in Washington, D.C. and the people inside and outside the Embassy who are part of the Embassy Protection Collective. These assaults, including illegal entry, attempts to break in to the Embassy, and assaults on persons outside the Embassy, have been met with near total inaction by the agents of the United States Secret Service and D.C. Metropolitan Police Department who are charged with protecting the Embassy under the Vienna Convention. On May 1, PCJF, acting on behalf of the Embassy Protection Collective, sent a letter to those agencies demanding that they enforce the law.
