U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff ruled that NYPD officers were not entitled to qualified immunity in the case of Garcia v. Bloomberg. The case, in which PCJF represents the plaintiffs, stems from the arrests on the Brooklyn Bridge on October 1, 2011 at the start of the Occupy movement.
