Legal Observers are trained monitors who are out on the streets during demonstrations in order to discourage, and protect demonstrators from, unlawful police conduct.
The National Lawyers Guild Legal Observer program is coordinated in Washington, DC by the NLG Mass Defense Committee.
Lawyers, law students, and legal workers who are interested in becoming trained Legal Observers, please visit the web site of the People's Law Resource Center or contact Zachary Wolfe, Esq.
If you need to report police misconduct when you are out on the street during a demonstration, NLG-trained legal observers are identifiable not only by the bright green hats but by event-specific badges.
